Work log - Week 12 - April 13, 2022

Wednesday 4/13

Spent a large part of the day machining parts and designing parts.

Also had fun working with Denny and making his mold. Unfortunately, today Denny told me he would not be completing FabAcademy. I’m going to miss working with him.

Denny’s so brave he closes his eyes when he pushes the big green button on the CNC! (or I just managed to capture him as he was blinking.)

And his mold, which came out very nice.

Thursday 4/14

Worked with Cori on continuing to design and create the mini-engraver Spent way tooo much time working on the feet of the mill. It’s going to be so worth it though.

Found out that the College was going to be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This completely threw off my schedule.

Friday 4/15

Spent a large part of the day tapping the hundred plus holes necessary for linear rails, accessories, etc. Put the mill together for the first time with the linear rails. They were awesome.

Saturday 4/16

Spent time in the lab with Cori and Ross Peele (who was kind enough to help us out.)

Worked on re-machining some parts, as well as continued necessary design changes. Worked on the feet as usual (We love casting.)

And it came out awesome.

Cori also came up with this very awesome Central Piedmont logo from the left over resin that you happen to always have around when casting.

Sunday 4/17

Spent more time in the lab working on the group project.

Slowly getting there. Still not sure if I’ll finish on time or not. Frankly it’s looking like it won’t happen, but I’m going to give it my best.

progress

But I’m so fucking depressed.
