Miss Baker | space monkey

Miss Baker is a device to encourage children to exercise while playing. This device that is placed on the shoe, has the function of counting steps in a playful way. To do this, it uses an accelerometer and an OLED screen. Then, it connects via bluetooth with a game made in Unity 3D and uses its gyroscope to function as a game controller and to move the game character.

At the design level, the aim of this project was to integrate the game controller behavior as a part of the game.

Why Miss Baker?

Miss Baker (1957 – November 29, 1984) was a squirrel monkey who in 1959 became one of the first two animals launched into space by the United States and safely returned. So, in honor of Miss Baker, I decided that this little monkey would be the main character. It is also a fun way to learn some history. From its name it seemed to me that the planets and the enemies had to come from a bakery, hence the evil donuts and muffins.
