'A gift is a gift and a sale a sale, no one thanks the shopkeeper for a bargain sale.'
Like the last two assignments, this assignment will also be done as a building block to my Final Project. We were tasked to conduct two assignments: Group assignment, and an individual assignment. These are listed in this page.
This week's individual assignment entails:
Humorously, I plan to use this project to further my political ambition. In the nearest future, I will be gunning for the top prize in Nigeria, which is the President of the Federal Republic. With regards to that, I intend to disseminate FabOMeter through a politcal campaign. I think I do stand a chance by promising each community a Fabrication Laboratory.
Joke apart, since the project I am working on is not novel, but an addition to existing projects, of which their exists tonnes of information on YouTube and on other platforms such as hackster.io, the only moral thing for me to do is to also contribute to the growing community by providing my incremental design to the world.
I intend to unveil the disemminate the project via my gitlab channel, as well as to make step-by-step YouTube tutorials on how to build one.
So the ideal license I might use for the project could be the Creative Commons license that allows the adaptation of FabOMeter to be shared, and also allows commercial uses of the project (Matthew 10:8b 'Freely ye have received, freely give'). This is appended below.
FabOMeter by Babasile Daniel Oladele-Emmanuel is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
Who says no to extra income! Surely not me. I foresee an opportunity to generate extra income from this project through workshop facilitation (that is, invitation to teach others) on how to make such projects or many more. I also see an opportunity to reach more people via YouTube and other channels, which means income could be generated from those channels as well.
Though this does not necessarily show income, but I also see an opportunity to get subsidies or grants from companies or grant organization to empower others in Nigeria on how to develop IoT projects, thereby solving more social challenges.
