programmers case

Every programmer needs a case. To protect. Simple. In week 0 we soldered three fabacademy programmers. And I want a case around them.

I measured the UPDI programmer PCB, created a case in Fusion360 and printed it on our Bambulabs X1C. I’ve used parameters for nearly all distances.

design

Clearance is 0.15mm.
Overall chamfer is 0.5mm.

manufacturing

Printed in black PLA, 0.12mm High Quality preset. No support, no raft or skirts.

UPDI programmer case iteration 1

Nice result, but not good #fail
I made a design mistake causing the whole design to be shifted to the left by 1mm. So the connector hole is shifted, the USB support is shifted… I also forgot a hole for the LED.
The snaplocks worked out fine! Back to the drawing board :-)

The second iteration of the UPDI case looks like this:

Next up is the JTAG case:

And the FTDI case:
Printed all these in one go using outer brim width of 5mm, 0.1mm brim-object gap.

Result

All three came out really well and fit nice.
