My Presentation:
Good morning Neil,
I am in charge of the high tech lab at the American University of Beirut "AUB", we are located near the sea and are facing a humidity problem in using the PVA material.
As you know the PVA water soluble material used in the "Ultimaker-3" 3 D printer needs a humidity level of around 50 %, we are in the range of 70-80 %, that is why I designed and manufactured the "Ulti-Dehumidifier".
I cuted the acrylic on the laser, I printed the water tank and the funnel on the 3D printer, I used electronic design, electronic production and embedded programing to operate my project.
The main components of my project are:
The humidity sensor DHT-22 to measure the humidity level.
The microcontroller ATmega 328 to read the value and display it on the LCD screen and turn On the "Peltier" kit if the humidity level is more than 50.0 %, and turn it off whenever it reaches the 50.0 %.
Final Video Presentation:
Knowing that my final video presented is the above one, I liked to push the below one to see the full functionality of the "Ulti-Dehumidifier".
Berytech is located in the mountainous region so the humidity level is lower than the seaside. In the below video you can mention that we are reaching the limit of 50.00 %, the RGB LED light is magenta when the Peltier is "On" and the Humidity is over 50%, when it reaches the 50.00 % the "Peltier" will turn Off and the RGB RED will be red.
In order to have more details about my project development and different stages you can refer to Week 20 "Project Development" page.
At the end, I would like to acknowledge "Berytch" Fab Lab Coordinator and Fab Academy Instructor Mr. Wael Khalil as well as Mr. Daniele Ingrassia for their guidance, technical and professional support and encouragement without whom I was not able to accomplish my project, wider my horizon by learning new softwares and hardwares and acquire this much of technical know-how and be part of the great Fab Academy worldwide network.
