About me¶

Who am I?¶
My name is Hrach Barseghyan. Before you try to guess how to read my firstname, here’s a heads-up, H–rahch!
How to pronounce my name?¶
H → like hat
r → lightly rolled
a → like father
ch → like church
Born in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, I grew up in a multilingual family, and I speak 4 languages: Armenian, Russian, English, and German [sometimes French too]. I love playing tennis, skiing, cycling, camping, trekking, bouldering…
I am interested in sciences, sports, filmmaking, coffee [beyond drinking it], music [I play guitar, and collect vinyls], and come from a computer science background.
Above 5000m¶

One of my highlights is summiting Mount Ararat at 5,165m. Though I have hiked +4000m peaks before, there was something differen about this ascent. Not the riskiest, but quite challenging, making day to day challenges seem not as serious and/or difficult.
Mount Ararat is a massive, twin-peaked dormant volcano. It is renowned as the biblical resting place of Noah’s Ark, a tradition that reinforces Armenia’s self-perception as the “cradle of civilization.” For us, Armenians, the mountain represents both a sacred spiritual anchor and a poignant reminder of our historical lands.
Though it is geographically located in eastern Turkey, it stands just over 30 kilometers from the Armenian border and dominates the skyline of Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. From Yerevan to Ararat Base Camp 1 it takes ~12 hours to drive.
Fun Fact¶

I make coffee everywhere, I travel with it, hike with it, ski with it… I basically wake up for coffee! Also… I make the best tiramisu, and I challange anyone to prove me wrong.
How & Why am I here?¶
To put it simply:
I am interested in anything and everything; I like learning, but don’t like studying and I get bored easily! Naturally, the solution was to enroll at FabAcademy — a fast paced, hands-on learning environment.
But on a more contemporary note, a year ago I participated in an AgriTech Incubation program, where I could not complete a working MVP. I could mentally come up with ideas, sketch them, but never turn them into something physical.
Previous Projects¶
Though it is difficult to choose which projects to include, I am attaching a spoon making project I did. And a more advanced one, a research project studying coffee bean changes during roasting during incremental roasting.
