Dissemination

Based off the the information I gathered form Neil’s lecture, I believe that the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License would be the best option for me and my project. This license allows others to share, use, and recreate my project while giving credit to the original author.

The terms of the license are as follows:

  • Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

  • No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

After creating my license I was presented with this code to allow other to recognize my work is licensed under Creative Commons:

<a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/"><img alt="Creative Commons License" style="border-width:0" src="https://i.creativecommons.org/l/by/4.0/88x31.png" /></a><br />This work is licensed under a <a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a>.

Future plans

In the future I plan to use WiFi to made the system wireless, that way I can make some sort of platform that I separate from the shelf and when and item is placed on that platform, the shelf will light up the color of the item placed on the platform. I also would like to add more inputs to the shelf for example along with the color sensor, I could have a photoresister that would cause the lamp to turn of when the lights go out.
