Heyo
My name is Ricardo and I’m a Designer from Portugal.
Lived all my life in Loures but since the start of the 2020 pandemic I moved to my parents more isolated farm in Palmela on the south shore of the Tagus river.
In 2020 I started my own Design consultancy agency to help deep tech projects become a reality.
I think I’ve always had an ok grasp on science but I noticed I needed to learn more about the connection between the digital realm and physical world.
Fab Academy seemed like the perfect way to learn about turning digital into physical and vice-versa.
This website is a record of my journey through FabAcademy.
I’m super excited and decently confident I can handle whatever FabAcademy throws at me… I’m just worried about having enough time to sort out any hole I dig myself into.
My love for computers made me enroll in Computer Engineering after high-school but eventually I dropped out when I figured it wasn’t leading me to a life I wanted to have. Stumbled around for a bit to figure out what I actually liked to do. Eventually I became aware that entrepreneurship was an option and set about understanding what it meant to start my own business.
While working on a project I thought it’d be beneficial to take an intensive Web-Design course and since I was at that I ended up doing a Product Design course at the same Design school. This was around the time digital product was starting to change the definition of Product Design but mine was still old-school physical stuff we could touch. It was my first introduction to parametric CAD too.
After a few years of working on different project I thought I could just start a Design company and so Eltryus was born.
Fun Fact¶
Middle of September is Vindima time and even though I don’t like wine I always help out and tend to end up driving the tractor to haul things around.
2023 update - Round 2¶
Welp… still here… Learned a bunch last year but couldn’t finish all tasks to graduate. Just gotta tidy up some loose ends and an assignment I skipped. Gotta graduate this year.
About me me¶
Music helps me focus so I’m probably listening to it almost every single moment I’m awake… I kinda listen to everything so here are a few songs I like:
When I can I also try to watch a movie before going to sleep to try and relax a bit. Yesterday I saw The Bubble, which was really, really bad… Bad enough that I’ll mention some good movies so I don’t have to end with it… Last good movies I saw were Devotion which was fantastic and Bullet Train that was super entertaining.
