My background

I was born in beautiful town of Tsirang located in southern foothills of Bhutan. Tsirang is one of the 20 Districts in Bhutan. Bhutan is a small and landlocked himalayan kindgdom clubbed between China in the north and India in the south. The country’s main source of income is agriculture and energy. Bhutan is one of the few countries in the world that are carbon negative and promises to keep it this was. We produce clean and renewable hydro energy from various run-of-the river hydro powers. The potential to produce more energy is limited my the minimum capital the county has. However, more projects are in pipeline.

I have a Master’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from Indrapastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D ) and bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering form College of Science and Technology, Royal University of Bhutan. I have worked with microelectronic and nano electronic circuit design aimed at flexible and transparent electronic. My Thesis was to design filter circuits for flexible and transparent electronics. My research interest are in the field of VLSI, Analog and Mixed Signal Device, Thin Film Transistor, Wireless Sensor Networks and Language Technology.

For my Bachelor degree, We worked on design and development of a scaled version of remote controlled Electric Train Model. The basic idea was to use IR remote control to control the movement of a Train. While the train movement is controlled by loco pilot, a remote control would be of help when the system would malfunction or the driver is incapicitated. For the project, we fabricated a train track, body of the train and a transceiver to control the train.

Previous work

I have guided many undergraduate projects as part of their undergraduate programme. I have also received few projects to carry out research works. Currently I am working of design and developement of sensor network and IoT based landslide detection and earlywarning system. The system has been installed in one of the landslide areas in Phuentsholing Bhutan and its data being captured regularly using GSM/GPRS module and Thingspeak server.

Research Projects I have carried out include:
