About me
Hi! I’m Yaro (Yaroslav Artsishevskiy).
A Design & Technology / STEAM teacher based in Hangzhou with 8+ years of experience teaching hands-on learning to children. I love building lessons where students make first, think deeper, and iterate: prototypes, simple machines, coding, and maker-style projects—always age-appropriate and safe.
Why I joined Fab Academy
It probably started in my parents' yard in a small city in southwest Russia: a house, not an apartment, with a workshop in the corner and a dad who was an electrical engineer. Fixing and building things wasn't a hobby, it was just life.
That hands-on instinct eventually led me through software studies, a move to China, and a winding teaching path that landed me in Design & Technology. Once I was surrounded by makers and fabricators, Fab Academy kept coming up. When my friend Nancy offered me a spot right after I finished my PGCE, the timing finally felt right. So here we are.
