About me

  • I am Alberto Cohaila Barrios, currently living in the city of Tacna, Peru. I am working as a teacher in the Industrial Electronics Program at the Instituto de Educación Superior Francisco de Paula Gonzales Vigil (IES FPGV) - Tacna. I have more than 7 years of experience in Industrial Automation and Control, IT and I have obtained a CCNA in 2007.

  • A FabLab is scheduled to be installed in the Institute where I work this year in collaboration with PMESUT and MINEDU. I thank my Institution that I represent, for giving me the opportunity to participate in the FabAcademy 2022 Academy Program. It is my goal to learn new knowledge and technology that will serve me to transmit to my students, teachers and why not make something for the community. This experience for me is a new challenge, so I am happy.

My background

  • I was born in a nice city called Tacna in Peru. Tacna is located in the extreme south of Peru near the border with the neighboring country of Chile. Tacna is known as the Heroic City and its population is approximately 400,000 thousand inhabitants. The Paseo Civico of Tacna is located in its center and houses the Cathedral of Tacna, of neo-Renaissance style. Nearby is the Arco Parabólico monument, dedicated to the soldiers of the War of the Pacific, and the Regional Historical Museum, with documents of that war. Just outside the city is the Campo de la Alianza complex, with a war monument, a museum and a cemetery.

Previous work

  • I am very passionate about electronics and interface programming. I remember when I was a kid I used to disassemble electrical devices and when I put them together I had parts left over. Now I implement circuits for specific prototypes. Thanks to control and automation I solve problems in my work and in the community.

Project

  • Some time ago I made a teaching module for the control of the water tank level. That time I made it with an angle metal structure and used two huge tanks of 50 liters each. Now my project will be to build the structure in ABS material, reduce the size, use much smaller tanks and make it transportable. Also give a better finish and presentation.
