-What will you design?

I will redesign the original project of Paulina ; the internal mechanism, the leafs support and how they will work, the electronics in order to fabricate the mock up.

This redesign is going to be a place in the green areas of the campus where the students could rest, study or talk with someone,  the central leaf, the larger one, will have some solar cells at the top to charge the batteries that power On the LEDS when getting dark


-What materials and components will be used?

1/8" dia Brass rod

1/2" dia. and 2mm thickness Cristal Clear Acrylic tube

1 Servo motor

3D printer

Lasser cut machine

Copper plates for the boards

LDR sensor

LEDS

4 pack AA recheargable batteries

4 solar cells of 6V 160mA

Dupont cables

I plan to use some white Acrylic for the eyes and teeth and behind
them a white or RGB leds, a speaker to hear the thunders, a
RCWL-0516 proximity sensor, a PCB ATtiny44 or similar made in the
Fab Lab, the principal body structure maybe in Polystyrene vacuumformed
or printed in the 3D printer, a solid structure of MDF or similar to bring
solid structure to the electronic components and to the vacuumform body.


-where will come from?

From suppliers like steren, la paloma, Plastimundo and from the FabLab


-how much will they cost?

I need to make a ball park fo the components, but I think it will cost between $50.00 or $80.00 USdlls


-What parts and systems will be made?

Almost Everything; the base, the central and secundary leafs, the components of the leafs, the boards like the one to sustitute the arduino and the one for the LDR, the axis supports and the components to assemble the "stem" of the leafs to the base



-What process will be used

3D printing, laser cut, milling, weld


what questions need to be answered?



Itis going to bestable?,the components will be functional?itwill rotate?

How will it be evaluated?

If it rotates, if the LDR sensor turn On and OFF the LEDS ,if it is stable.
