- Understand the patent process, intellectual property and business principles.
- Develop a plan for dissemination of your final project.
My final project is a way for me to show all the skills learnt as a Fabacademy student. The DromeDroid idea could be potentially scaled up, and I’m sure I can find a way to start a company making these, however this is not my intent at this moment. I’m happy with what I have learnt and want to use my newfound skills to further enhance the DromeDroid and in other projects.
For the time being, I don’t have a need for funding or getting a patent. I do want to have a creative commons license so that my project is protected from someone else commercializing it but at the same time, it could be shared for others to be inspired.
DromeDroid is the ideal space explorer's companion in a hostile environment such as Mars.
The DromeDroid's intent with its animal like design is to provide companionship while having carrier capabilities of vital goods to explorers. Much like a dromedar in a caravan while crossing a desolate desert.
The license I want to use is the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This license allows people to use my work if they share alike, but they are not allowed to use it for commercial purposes. This is a good license for me because I want people to be able to use my work, but not allowed to start a company around it. This way I can keep my work protected while still sharing it with the world!

If such a DromeDroid were ever to be a feasible companion in future space exploration, then its large scale fabrication could be considered. In such case, perhaps the fabrication and operational costs should be offset from the tangible and intangible revenue the DromeDroid would provide to those future space (or earthly) explorers and its mission.
