Week 18: Invention, Intellectual Property, and Income
Assignment
- Created a dissemination plan for your final project
- Outlined future possibilities and described how to make them probabilities
- Uploaded a draft summary slide and video in the correct resolution and format
- Make slide and video accessible from your website

Dissemination Plan
I would like my project to be fully open source design, software and hardware.
Method of dissemination
I will set up my repo with files and a clear set of instructions for creating the lamp for anyone with the requisite skills so they can create a motion sensing light.
I will create:
- An instruction and troubleshooting file for each area (software, design and electronics)
- Assembly instructions
- Some slides and video showing steps with a link to the Fab Academy site for the project
- Hardware designfiles in Kicad, .3dm, .Stl and a BoM

Publicity
Since this is my first experience creating something I chose a project which I thought would be the most simple – as a confidence boosting exercise – then with the idea of moving onto all the very cool projects I have in mind. But actually it was a huge learning curve and series of problem solving efforts – and its not over – it never ends. So I'd like this project to act as a sort of loss leader, meaning that I wouldn't profit from it financially but hopefully get some 'Respecccct!' and form the basis for conversations, relationships with other makers, marketers, funders and like minded people going forward on other projects.
Finally I would have considered a trademark on the name Luminous and perhaps spend a small sum to make the lamp into a registered design to establish legitimacy and seriousness, but there is nothing worth patenting at all in my view and it is my contribution to the maker community.
