Week 13 - Break, midterm review
Project Tasks and Timeline Overview
The project is organized into several overlapping phases spanning from May 15th to June 13th. Each phase focuses on a critical aspect of the development process for the driver stress and mood monitoring device.
Phase 1: Design & Preparation (May 15 – 25)
- CAD Design: Designing the device architecture, sensor housings, and mechanical components.
- Circuit Design (PCB): Developing and validating the PCB design for the sodium ion detection system and overall device integration.
Phase 2: Fabrication (May 22 – June 3)
- 3D Printing: Fabricating PETG enclosures for housing the device's components.
- PCB Assembly: Soldering and assembling the XIAO ESP32S3 breakout boards and ensuring signal integrity for the biosensor.
Phase 3: Assembly & Alpha Testing (May 28 – June 3)
- Mechanical Integration: Mounting sensor modules with neodymium magnets and integrating the Raspberry Pi with the output display.
- Functional Verification: Testing data transmission, calibrating the sodium sensor with saliva samples, and verifying LED feedback response.
Phase 4: Refinement & User Experience (June 3 – 10)
- Software Optimization: Enhancing facial recognition algorithms and refining LED feedback.
- User Experience Tuning: Improving the interface and output screen for real-time mood and stress level display.
Phase 5: Final Validation & Media Production (June 10 – 13)
- Demo Video & Documentation: Recording the project demonstration and preparing final documentation for delivery.
