Week 9 - West Harima / Output device

This is group assignment page of Output device (Kitakagaya students, in Fab Lab West-Harima) :
- Shin Masuoka
- Hiroe Takeda

Group assignment

  • measure the power consumption of an output device

Machine we used

  • Stabilized Power Supply : DC310S

  • Spec

    • Multi-functional display: 2.8 inch color LCD display
    • display voltage (output voltage setting and actual output value)
    • current (output current setting and actual output value)
    • actual output power
    • cumulative running time
    • channel output status
    • overvoltage/overcurrent protection setting values
    • DISPLAY key allows you to choose to display measurement data in numbers or curves
    • Rated Output Voltage: 0-30V
    • Rated Output Current: 0-10A
    • Setting/Leadback Resolution: Voltage: 10mV, Current: 1mA
    • Setting/Leadback Accuracy: Voltage: ≤0.1%±20mV, Current: ≤0.1%±10mA
  • How to use : link to Youtube

Test Output Device we used

  • Solid State Module (SSR-40DA)
  • DF Player (MP3 player)

TEST1 : Solid State Module (SSR-40DA) by Hiroe Tadada

Mesure the power consumption and standby power for an Solid State Module (SSR-40DA) and the XIAO ESP32C3 board that Hiroe Takeda made on week09.

  • Power consumption of board and SSR (ON):
(NOTE: Power consumption of desk light is not included.)

    • E = V × I
    • 0.31W (0.30752 (E) = 4.96 (v) x 0.062 (A)), in this time
      alt text
  • Standby power (Power consumption of board (SSR OFF))

    • E = V × I
    • 0.11W (0.310912 (E) = 4.96 (v) x 0.022 (A)), in this time

TEST2 : DFPlayer (MP3 player) by Shin Masuoka

We checked the power consumption of DFPlayer (MP3 player) and the XIAO RP2040 board that Shin Masuoka made on week08.

The result was 1.34W
(Power consumption = board + DFplayer (ON) + speaker)
This device has an amplifier and be able to make sound via speakers. This is why rather high power consumption.
