About Me

Hi! My name is Dylan Ferro and I am in the class of 2025 at Charlotte Latin School in Charlotte, North Carolina. I have lived in Charlotte for my whole life and since kindergarten(age 5) I have attended Charlotte Latin. In my years at Latin, I have taken 7 different classes of engineering. I have also been interested in engineering since I took the Young Engineers of Today camps, hosted by Latin, at the age of 6. I have found that over the years I have a strong suit for mechanical engineering. I think this partly comes from my love for Legos when I was younger. I have experience using many different CNC machines such as milling machines, ShopBot, vinyl cutters, laser cutters, 3D printers, and resin printers. I am also experienced with soldering and some programming. Another strength I have is digital design with CAD, especially in Fusion 360. Most of my Fusion 360 learning came from YouTube tutorials by Product Design Online. I have also taken some welding classes with CPCC. Some of my past projects include an RC car from scratch with 3D-printed parts, an automatic pet feeder, and a word clock.
