1. Principles and practices

During this first week I immersed myself and explored what is related to Fab Academy, being really fascinated and even more, for being part of its reality.

With the purpose of Fab Academy now clear, the next step is to work on the idea of a probable project.

Research

“Before the possible return to on-site classes at IES “Francisco de Paula Gonzáles Vigil”, how to contribute with biosafety measures in the laboratory or workshop environments, where students frequently carry out their practices, taking into account that the common contact of objects among them is a possible means of COVID19 contagion? How to collaborate with people with different abilities so that they have access to some of the biosafety elements, such as the gel dispenser?
An alternative solution to these problems could be the availability of an automatic gel alcohol dispenser installed at the entrance of each laboratory or workshop.”

The final product of the project would look similar to the one shown in the following image:

What will it do?

The operation of the automatic gel dispenser starts with the detection, by the sensor, of the hand approached by the person, without touching it. The dispenser will eject the gel until the hand is removed. The instructions will be programmed on the arduino board, previously assembled.

Who will use it?

It will be used by any person who is going to enter the laboratory or workshop environments and is going to use any object found inside, such as modules, equipment, tools and accessories, among others, that is, any object that can be taken by person.
