About me¶
Hi and welcome to my Fab Academy site! My name is Nidhie Dhiman and I currently split my time between the Fab Lab and Leadership Development department at Charlotte Latin School. In the fall of 2020, I came on board with Latin’s Engineering department to teach Intro to Engineering Design Methods to Upper School students. Wanting to help my own daughter build confidence in the field, I jumped at the chance to work with the engineering department as a way to offer young women the chance to see what they can accomplish! Starting off as a computer science major before changing my degree, I never lost my passion for the hands-on learning engineering offers. Becoming a Latin family gave us the opportunity to attend the Fab Lab “Adult Swim” classes (prior to the pandemic) and reignited my love for learning and tinkering. I am thrilled to be here and can not wait to show all of my students what we can accomplish!

My background¶
I was born in New Delhi, India. I moved to the US with my parents when I was two, so have essentially grown up here! We have lived in several states and I ended up in Charlotte, NC after meeting my husband. We have a beautiful daughter who is currently a student in the Middle School Innovation & Design program at Charlotte Latin.
