Individual assignment: Propose a final project masterpiece that integrates the range of units covered. Answering the following questions.

Introduction

In this assignment Prof. Neil explain the different application of Fab Academy course in society. He explain about project done by the student in different areas. The final project is a part of course, so he asking some question about project. Acatually the answer very simple, but we do the brain storming on the question, the answer will be too much lengthi and it will gives a clear cut ideas about the objective,methods, processes, planning and outcomes of project. So lets start thinking on the question.

1. What will it do?

Ans: A smart kitchen chimney is used for suction and exhaust the smoke get out from combustion of fossil fuel and gases in kitchen during cooking a food. It uses the solar energy as a power source to run the DC fan of the chimney. When the smokes come in contact with the sensor of chimney, the sensor gives the signal smoke sensor board which using ATtiny44 microcontroller. The exhaust fan will get operate, which can suck the smoke from kitchen and exhaust it into carbon charcoal filter where the carbon and other hazardous gases will get absorbs and the smoke will be exhausted into the atmosphere.


2. Who's done what beforehand?

Ans: In market smart kitchen chimney is available with input AC power. Here I am using DC solar energy which is renewable and easily available energy. Solar technology is the novel technology which uses the natural sunlight to produce electricity so the entire system uses the solar energy as a power source.

3. What will you design?

Ans: Firstly, I will design body of chimeny using 2D and 3D software. Generally, I will used FreeCAD software for design. Then I will design the smoke sensor board, already I am trying to design this board inInput Devices week but here in this board I have to also add output devices and may be networking also. So, this complete board I will design using ATtiny44 microcontroller.

4.What materials and components will be used?

6. What parts and systems will be made?

1. Firstly, I will make the supporting frame and body. The plasma cutting machine is used to cut the sheet. The spot-welding machine I will used for joint the sheet. Arc welding machine for welding the frame.
2. Casing to sensor I will develop on 3D printers.
3. Then I will develop the smoke sensor board using SRM-20 milling machine. Then all components will be solder on it using soldering station. The smoke sensor board control the working of chimney. So, it’s act as a brain of the chimney.
4. Then I will develope the box using Acrylic 4 mm sheet for board mounting

7. What processes will be used?

Ans: I have to follow the following process
a. Define the objective of the project and do the Literature Survey.
b. Sketch of the project.
c. Learn about project mangement tools. Plot the Grantt Chart for the project.
d. Coumputer Aided Design of different parts and body of the chimney.
e. Solar system design for to run the chimeny.
f. Computer Aided Cutting using plasma cutting machine.
g. Learn the Arduino programming and develope the programm for the project.
h. Develop the smoke sensor board for to run the fan, programm and test it.
i. Develope the casing to sensor on 3D printers
j. Project Assembly and testing

8.What questions need to be answered?

Ans: How effectively the smoke from kitchen will get exhaust into the atmosphere and how provide the comfortless to the user in kitchen with low cost project and with saving of energy.

9. How will it be evaluated?

Ans: The evaluation of my project is based on the following factor: a. It is smart kitchen chimney that means it will operate automatically. As the smoke will get sense it will start its operation. Whether it will start its operation automatically or not that we have to check. b. It is a solar operated chimney. So, whether the solar system and its power generation capacity is optimum for the chimney working that also we have to check. c. How effectively the smoke get exhaust, that also we have to check d. How effectively the carbon filter removes the carbon particles from the smoke that also evaluated
