Dissemnination Plan

My plan for dissemination of my project falls under 2 different sub-plans. The first part of my plan is protections: in this case a license that I believe will best protect my project while still allowing the sharing of ideas. The second part of my plan is how to spread my ideas. Some things I thought of were social media, local institutions, and other connections to bring my ideas to the community for improvement.

Protections

Going into this I already knew a little about Creative Commons from other projects. Because of this, I filled out this license chooser to simplify my decisions. I settled on the CC Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license. This license grants my work to be used for any purpose, including commercial, as long as I get attribution for the work and any works that are created based on mine are under the same license. I chose the ShareAlike form of the license because I don’t want anybody else to put further restrictions on the sharing of my work. After using the tool, I was given the option to embed the HTML code in the website, which is below.

Sharing My Project

Now that I’ve given permission for anybody to share my project, I needed to make a plan to first share it to others. The first place that I intend to share my finished project is on [Fablabs.io], a website for people to share their projects made in Fab labs. I also want to see if my project can be improved to actually help combat deforestation in a real world setting. I am planning on finding charities and other organizations that I can share my project with.

Future plans

After I finish my project, I think I will at least spend some time to further develop it, or even explore other applications that my project can be used for. Some of my ideas for further development include: Adding a GPS module like my original idea, adding more features through the interface like being able to draw a path for the wagon, and making my design more physically sturdy through the motor mounts and wheelbase. To make these ideas a reality, I am first going to do some more research on what design requirments would be needed to actually apply my design into the real world. I will start with mechanical improvements so that the wagon will be able go over rougher terrain, and then begin my design improvements, working with the groups I outlined above to discover what my project needs most.

Creating My Slide Draft

I followed Adam Stone’s Documentation for setting up a slide draft. I had to change the size of the slide to 1920x1080 and export the slide as a JPEG. I inserted a few pictures of progress I’ve made so far and put it into my root directory, straight under docs. Here’s what my slide draft looks like so far:
