Design

This week assignment I want to design a game for the Fab Lab, is a group of gears with different sizes that moves the Beach Lab logo sequentially. So first I edited the logo dividing it in 4 sections, each section will be moved by the movement of the gears.

Basically the function is when the handle is turned will move a gear that has different sizes circles randomly put along it as you can see in the graphic (1). The movement will be transferred to another circles (2) that has joint the logo sections (3).

All the connections are press fits, and the gear has teeth that fixes the circles to it, handle also is using this system. Other circles just fit tightly with the logo pieces.

Fabrication

I designed the game to be 3D printed, I used a Ultimaker 3D printer with PLA filament. Is a big work so I set it with 5% infill all the pieces. The result is pretty good considering the infill percentage, is really stable and strong enough to make it function with by hand.

The design needs improvements on the logo to make it more stable, I add an extra piece to help and finally works. The video shows some problems at the begining caused for this.
