Hello and welcome to my FabAcademy site!
I am excited to finally have a chance to take this course. I am an
Engineering Sciences and Technology instructor at Central Piedmont
Community College (CPCC) and PhD Candidate just
received my PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of North
Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). In the past, I've done a lot of neat
projects, both in the DIY realm, academia and some in industry. I've
developed and taught a lot of really fun and interesting classes and
summer camps for college as well as high school and middle school-aged
children with topics including quadcopters, robotics, and general
engineering. I expect this course will teach me to prototype ideas
much more quickly and accurately and allow me to open the world of
digital fabrication to others as well in my community.
I wrote a tutorial and recorded two comprehensive videos on how to use some of the tools in the FabLab. I posted them in the tutorials and videos section of this year's class pages, but I've also listed them below.
Each week, we carry out a project task and learn about new hardware, software or processes.
