The first time I set foot in a Fab Lab I was so fascinated by the vibe, the marvellous objects and projects around and by the mood of the team, that I knew I had to get in that enviroment somehow!
My name is Olivia, I'm 26 and I'm from a town in Tuscany called Grosseto. I've just graduated in Communication studies and I'm doing a two years specialization in UX at the moment.
This is the link to my student agreement.
In highschool I attended mostly classical studies and I truly loved it, I was mostly passionate about anchient history and literature. After school I went to college right for International studies and Economics in Florence. Not very long had passed untill I knew it was no good for me. That's when I decided to change city and path. I came to Siena and I started a three years graduation course in Communication studies which I finished in december 2019. During this time I have attended two amazing classes of Professor Patrizia Marti: Human-computer interaction and Experience Design. I was also given the chance of an intership in the FabLab by the Professor herself. I grew some UX design projects out of these great classes and internship such as a museum app, a chatbot, and a 3D virtual assistant (this was my thesis project for a company that sells virtual assistants). The reason I wanted to join Fab Academy so badly was to unite my UX Design studies with rapid prototyping skills and competence.
