18. Mechanical design ,Machine design

This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.

Individual contribution:

After a long discussion we decided to work on our collegue Kais Allila Idea ,It was building a CNCplotter machine . We collaborated together to Understand it’s different parts and components, we arrived to the stade of dividing the work amoung us and to transforme the Idea into real, the inspiration of our design Our design was from this model with an XY core.

Design stage :

Each one of us was being responsable of designing a part from the machine. my works was to design the Guide rod, I used the my usual designing software The fusion 360 so lets start :

The work was too awsome I learned a lot of new thing in vmy fabacademy journey and day by day I mastered a new skill, also it was enjoyable to work with my team ^^

1 - I designed a rectangle with a Two circles on the right and left sides as it is shown below :

2- For each side up the circles I designed another two rectangles:

3- I extruded the first desgined part then on the two external sides I created a new scketch and I designed another two small circles

After finishing my part, It sent it to kais for the all parts assembly he was the responsable one and here how was look after we combined the machine parts :

Electronic part:

For our machine we need an arduino Uno and a cnc shield , 2 motors and 2 A4998 drivers and a servo motor.the following figure will show the circuit to be made. Of course the CNC shield will be mounted on the Arduino.

I checked the connections between our machine and the arduino, after collaborating all together to successfully assmbling our machine.

Software:

Our collegue Kais was responsable for programming .

He used the GRBL software which was a very good open source software to control CNC. For this project We used CoreXY system so the first step he have done was to go : grbl folder and change to config.h

Machine testing:

We worked all together to test the machine , so fo that Kais installed the GRBL , so here you can download the LaserGRBL file we used.
