Welcome to my Fab academy site¶
Hello! I´m Pablo Pastor, I was born in Logroño (La Rioja) in 1992; when I finished my basic education, I studied a Higher Education Vocational Course in Mechanical Production Design. After working for a year in a technical office, I realized I didn’t like the job so I decided to quit and continue studying.
In 2014 I moved to Madrid to study Product Design at ESNE, where I met a Fab Lab for the first time. During the 3rd year, I worked as an intern for a year, which I loved. When I finished my studies at university, I worked as a lighting designer for a Madrid-based company.
After working for two years, I became a freelance designer. During this time, I worked in various design projects for different companies. In 2022, I had the chance to go back to ESNE’s Fab Lab, where I am currently the manager.
Student Agreement¶
The fab academy is responsible for:
Teaching principles and practices of digital fabrication
Arranging lectures, recitations, meetings, and events for the class
Evaluating and providing feedback on student work
Offering clear standards for completing assignments
Certifying and archiving student progress
Supervising class preparation
Reviewing prospective students, instructors, and labs
Providing central staff and infrastructure for students, instructors, and labs
Fund-raising for costs not covered by student tuition
Managing and reporting on the program’s finances, results, and impacts
Publicizing the program
Promoting a respectful environment free of harassment and discrimination
I am a fab academy student, reponsible for:
Attending class lectures and participating in reviews
Developing and documenting projects assigned to introduce and demonstrate skills
Honestly reporting on my work, and appropriately attributing the work of others
Working safely
Leaving workspaces in the same (or better) condition than I found them
Participating in the upkeep of my lab
Ensuring that my tuition to cover local and central class costs is covered
Promoting a respectful environment free of harassment and discrimination
