18.0 Assignment of this week

Complete your final project, tracking your progress:
what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
what’s working? what’s not?
what questions need to be resolved?
what will happen when?
what have you learned?

18.1 Schedule and status

Calender Task(s) Status

Week 1( 22 - 28 May) Finalize mechanical design and avionics Done
Week 2( 29 May to 4 June) Air frame assembly/avionics assembly Done
Week 3( 5 - 10 June) Test/Record/Report/Presentation Done

18.2 Check list

Question Answer
what tasks have been completed,
and what tasks remain?
The final projects were completed as planned.
I will share a building instruction for a small sample.
what's working? what's not? Finally both of the final project models("Lite" and "Heavy") became airworthy,
but "Heavy" was not in the earlier development stage.
It was under-powered and couldn't make ascending flight.
I reduced size and weight of its moving parts,
and replaced the motor to the more powerful one.
After these improvements, "Heavy" became a powerful outdoor flyer.
what questions need to be resolved? To how much degrees can airframes be enlarged?
How to calculate sufficient motor power accorfing to the airframe size?
what will happen when? I will prepare a series of workshop for students later this year.
what have you learned? I have learned:
3D animation(Blender),
PCB CAD(KiCAD),
gcode for CNC milling(Fusion 360),
Atmel and Arduino programming,
and entire project management
(planning, schedule control, resouce control, documentation and presentation).
