19. Project development

Complete your final project tracking your progress.

Learning outcomes

  • Implement project plan
  • Apply time management techniques
  • Summarise and communicate the essence of your project development

Have you answered these questions?

  • what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
  • what has worked? what hasn’t?
  • what questions need to be resolved?
  • what will happen when?
  • what have you learned?

What tasks have been completed?

  • 3D Design
  • Aluminium Milling
  • PCB milling
  • PCB soldering
  • 3D printed parts
  • Wiring

Remaining:

  • Motherboard debugging.
  • Motherboard programming.
  • Locate everything in place.
  • Calibrate the drivers
  • Test independent movement of each axis
  • Test the CNC shield.
  • Test the machine.

What has worked? what hasn’t?

Most of the machine worked well, except for the part I realized I misplaced the 2 holes of each anti backlash nut, and had to hand drill it all again. I think I had few problems because I have a lot of experience making machines but this was a fun project.

what questions need to be resolved?

Will the motherboard work? I think I might have fried the microcontroller connecting the isp cable in the reverse polarity and tried to program the board a lot of times with no luck.

What will happened when?

When I resolve all Issues I will have a great Final project presentation and will have an amazing product to sell and to work with.

What have you learned?

During the fab academy I learned a lot about Git, and web development, also I kind of revived the experience of PCB desing and milling wich I haven´t done in so much time, it was kind of a forgotten Hability I had. I learned about vinyl cutting, and laser cutting and also, about team work, and friendship. I´m very greatful of this Course
