Elegoo Mars 2 Pro MSLA Printer Station
Quick-Reference Operator Card
1. Pre-Flight Safety & Station Setup Checklist
- [ ] PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): Put on Nitrile gloves and splash safety goggles before handling resin, vats, or wash stations. (Never use latex gloves—resin penetrates latex).
- [ ] VENTILATION: Verify the active carbon filter fan is powered on and keep the UV-blocking lid installed during operation.
- [ ] VAT & FEP INSPECTION: Check the bottom FEP film for clouding, scratches, or cured resin debris. Use ONLY plastic/silicone scrapers inside the vat.
- [ ] BUILD PLATE PREP: Clean the aluminum build plate with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and ensure the Z-axis ball joint hex screws are securely tightened.
2. Standard 5-Step Print Workflow
- MIX & POUR RESIN Shake the resin bottle vigorously for 60 seconds. Pour resin into the vat between the MIN and MAX fill lines.
- SLICE IN CHITUBOX Select the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro profile. Rotate model 30^\circ - 45^\circ, lift 5\text{ mm} off the bed, generate supports, and add \ge 3\text{ mm} drain holes for hollow models.
- TRANSFER & START JOB Save the sliced .ctb file to a formatted USB drive. Insert into the printer, select the file, and press Print. Place yellow cover on immediately.
- SOLVENT WASH (POST-PROCESSING) Scrape the green print off the plate into the wash tank. Agitate in 99% IPA for 3–5 minutes. Allow part to air-dry completely.
- SECONDARY UV CURE Place dried part in the UV curing station for 3–5 minutes (405\text{ nm}) until surface stickiness is fully gone.

Key Operational Rule |
| Standard / ABS-Like |
2.0\text{ s} - 2.5\text{ s} |
30\text{ s} - 35\text{ s} |
99% IPA |
Standard setup; ensure complete IPA drying before UV post-cure. |
| Water-Washable |
1.8\text{ s} - 2.2\text{ s} |
25\text{ s} - 30\text{ s} |
Tap Water |
Wash in dedicated water buckets; NEVER pour rinse water down lab drains. |

3.5\text{ s} - 4.5\text{ s} |
40\text{ s} - 50\text{ s} |
99% IPA |
Requires heavy support contacts and slower Z-lift speeds to prevent peeling failures. |
4. Rapid Troubleshooting & Maintenance
| Issue |
Root Cause |
Immediate Corrective Action |
| Print Detached / Stuck to FEP |
Insufficient bottom layer exposure or poor Z-leveling. |
Run Tools \rightarrow Tank Clean for 15s to peel cured sheet off FEP; re-level Z-axis on paper. |
| Hollow Model Exploded / Cracked |
Trapped un-cured resin / no drain holes. |
Add \ge 3\text{ mm} drain holes near base in CHITUBOX; flush inner cavity with IPA before curing. |
| Soft / Blurry Print Details |
Clouded FEP film or resin residue on LCD screen. |
Clean underside of FEP and LCD screen with 99% IPA and lens wipes; replace FEP if stretched/dented. |
⚠️ CHEMICAL & HAZARDOUS WASTE HAZARD: Liquid resin and resin-contaminated IPA are toxic to skin and the environment. Never pour resin or contaminated wash liquid down lab sinks. Solar-cure all liquid waste or dispose in labeled hazardous waste carboys. Report cracked LCD screens, leaking FEP vats, or chemical spills to lab staff immediately.
