Bambu Lab P2S 3D Printer Station
Quick-Reference Operator Card
1. Pre-Flight Safety & Station Setup Checklist
- [ ] EYE PROTECTION: Put on safety glasses when removing support structures or using flush cutters.
- [ ] VENTILATION: Keep front door and top glass cover CLOSED when printing ABS, ASA, or composite filaments to utilize the internal carbon filter.
- [ ] BUILD PLATE PREP: Clean the flexible PEI plate with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and a lint-free wipe. (Never use metal blades on PEI surfaces).
- [ ] CHAMBER CLEARANCE: Verify magnetic bed seating, check rear purge chute for blockages, and ensure gantry paths are clear.
2. Standard 5-Step Print Workflow
- LOAD FILAMENT Load spools into the AMS unit or rear spool holder. Ensure AMS desiccant pack is dry.
- SLICE IN BAMBU STUDIO Select the Bambu Lab P2S printer profile, nozzle size (0.4\text{ mm} standard), and matching filament profile. Verify overhang angles (\le 45^\circ) and enable tree supports if needed.
- ASSIGN AMS SLOTS & SEND JOB Click Print Plate. Map your slicer colors/materials to the corresponding AMS slot numbers.
- RUN AUTO-CALIBRATION Check Bed Leveling and Flow Dynamic Calibration for high-precision or critical first-layer prints.
- VERIFY FIRST LAYER Observe the prime line and complete first layer in person before leaving the station.
3. Filament & Hardware Rules
| Filament Type |
AMS Compatible? |
Hotend Temp |
Bed Temp |
Key Operational Rule |
| PLA / PLA-CF |
✅ Yes |
210^\circ\text{C} - 230^\circ\text{C} |
35^\circ\text{C} - 55^\circ\text{C} |
Keep top glass lid vented/propped during long prints to prevent heat creep. |
| PETG |
✅ Yes |
230^\circ\text{C} - 250^\circ\text{C} |
70^\circ\text{C} - 80^\circ\text{C} |
Must be thoroughly dried; clean PEI plate with IPA for proper release. |
| TPU (Flexible) |
❌ NO |
220^\circ\text{C} - 240^\circ\text{C} |
30^\circ\text{C} - 50^\circ\text{C} |
STRICTLY BYPASS AMS. Feed directly from rear spool holder. |
| ABS / ASA |
✅ Yes |
250^\circ\text{C} - 270^\circ\text{C} |
90^\circ\text{C} - 100^\circ\text{C} |
Keep door and lid fully closed to maintain chamber heat and trap VOCs. |
4. Rapid Troubleshooting & Maintenance
| Issue |
Root Cause |
Immediate Corrective Action |
| First Layer Lifting / Warping |
Finger oils on PEI plate or low bed temperature. |
Wash PEI plate with warm water & dish soap, dry, then wipe with 99% IPA. |
| Extruder Clicking / No Extrusion |
Partial nozzle clog or heat creep. |
Heat hotend to 250^\circ\text{C} and perform a cold pull or unclog with needle. |
| Carbon Motion Rod Buildup |
Dust on CoreXY rods. |
Wipe carbon rods with a dry microfiber cloth or light 99% IPA. NEVER apply grease/oil. |
⚠️ HOT SURFACE HAZARD: Nozzle (300^\circ\text{C}) and bed (100^\circ\text{C}) reach extreme temperatures. Wait for bed temperature to drop below 40^\circ\text{C} before flexing the plate to remove parts. Report mechanical issues, damaged hotends, or nozzle clogs to lab staff immediately.
