Introduction

Humanneeds are increasing day by day, which leads to a constant deterioration of the environment, particularly in urban areas. Indeed, the environmental issue has been felt, it is also a major subject and a need to study that no one can deny at the global level.
With the increasing volume of waste produced by our way of life, waste management has become a societal issue. However, this phenomenon concerns much more African countries due mainly to collective unconsciousness and incivism
The goal of this work is to realize a smart bin powered by photovoltaic energy for public spaces such as hospitals, public markets, supermarkets, workplaces, etc.
In the next document, we will discuss two (02) parts. The first part will concern the material and equipment necessary for the realization of the project and the last a detailed description of how to communicate the various tools of the project and the results of the tests.

Objectives

The idea for the project came to me when I saw waste everywhere in the different cities not only in my country but also in other African countries. I thought about making a model for workplaces and public places. The aim of the system is to reduce the rate of waste in different cities.

Principle of operation

The principle of operation of the system is simple. We have a smart trash can equipped with a level sensor to measure the filling level and send an SMS and indicate the relevant bin via the GSM unit to the person in charge of emptying it when it is full. Thus, the opening and closing of the trash can is controlled by a servomotor. To prevent the smell of waste I have provided a ventilation system that will evacuate heat andbad odors. In order not to dirty the trash I have provided a bag inside the trash can that will prevent the garbage from touching the walls of the bin. In addition to this I have added LEDs that will light up when the trash can is opened in order to illuminate the interior.
