About me¶
Hello everyone! I am Alberto Porri. I am currently studying Experience Design and UX at the University of Siena.
I heard for the first time about the world of Digital Fabrication during the quarantine period in 2020.
From that moment, I’ve been waiting for the Fab Academy like a child waits for Christmas.
My background¶
I was born in Siena, I’ve graduated in Communication, languages and cultures at the University of Siena.
During my bachelor degree I had my Erasmus experience at the University of Edinburgh. I’ve been in Scotland for nine months, and I loved it.
Since I began my master degree in Experience Design, I’ve been working for a Communication Agency located in Siena, managing social networks and websites.
My hobbies¶
I’ve always been fond of technology in all its shapes. Ever since I was a child, I was the one who had to setup the devices for my family members.
There was no phone or PC that had not been checked by me before being used by my family.
Despite my passion for technology and IT, maths has always been a problem for me. That’s why I don’t have a engineering background but instead
I wanted to study experience design: to be a link between the creative and the engineer.
I’m keen on rock music, videogames and TV series and movies (who is not these days?).
I used to play Judo, Rugby, Boxing and more recently I practised Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
