Ghinwa Azzi is an Architect, Lab Instructor and Supervisor at the American University of Beirut, Department of Architecture and Design. She holds an MBA emphasis in Management and International Affairs from Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, a Graduate Diploma D.E.S.S in Management from HEC – Montreal, Bachelor of Architecture from the Lebanese American University, and a Furniture Design and Woodworking Techniques Certificate from the Asmar Wood Academy. Before joining AUB, Ghinwa practiced architecture in two offices in Beirut where she developed her technical skills. In parallel, she participated, mentored, and offered architectural workshops, and summer camps such as “Orion Summer Camp” in collaboration with Parallel Studio and Girls Got IT which aimed to break the cultural stereotype surrounding women and STEAM subjects through integrating architecture and 3D modeling. Ghinwa joined AUB in 2017 as the lab supervisor of ArD TechLab and is involved in digital fabrication and techniques with architecture & engineering students. Also, she led and mentored several workshops at AUB in collaboration with the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture such as “Digital Modeling and Fabrication” at the Youth Sumer Program 2019, Rapid Prototyping Workshop and FYP Accelerator Program “Invent for the Planet” competition.
