About me...

My name is Stéphane Muller and this is the story of my journey as a maker at FabLab Sorbonne University in Paris, France, during the Fab Academy.

The road to the Fab Academy has been a long one. My first degree and professional experience is in telecommunications, computers and networks. This was my first contact with electronics and computer programming. I have to say I didn't really enjoy electronics at the time and mainly focused on computers. I then went on to spend a gap year in England studying design, woodwork and literature. From there I did a master's degree in technical translation and became a translator. I translated technical documentation for 3 years, but eventually decided it wasn't for me and started a new master's degree, in multimedia instructional design this time.

I have been a digital learning manager in various companies for 7 years and it is now time to move on again. My goal is to work in a fablab as a fabmanager and maybe one day start my own fablab. Making things, finding clever solutions or workarounds, repurposing things and sharing this passion with others, is what I want to do.

The expert enough manifesto perfectly sums up the way I try to tackle the Fab Academy and learning in general. I strive to be a Jack of all trades. And remember, the whole saying goes: Jack of all trades, master of none, still better than master of one.
