Week18 - Applications and Implications

My Journy and Thoughts

Even after fabacademy i am gonna do at least 5 workshops and make another final project as part of my sponsorship by Hamdan Award, I do want to create another final project where I actually will think about getting an income from, that project is gonna be opensource for sure, i love open source, but not for comercial use since i want to get an income from it. It is still not clear to me what will be my next project, I dont think i wanna build on my project although i do have great ideas of how to make it smaller, yet more programable to conduct studies on the shapes or just to enjoy the patterns, I want something new, something bigger and something that moves, whatever my next project will be, am gonna be even more proud of it than this one. The 5 workshops that i am gonna be conducting will mostly be on the machines i learned to work on during fabacademy, as i see from the staff here, who are last year graduates from fabacademy, they tend to create these teaching kits when conducting workshops, this helps a lot in teaching as the purpose of the workshops is to get the students to be more motivated to learn about things, get their curiousity moving, attract them or push them a little bit towards making, kill their fear and show them how easy it is, I wanna be able to do the same things, what do you know.. maybe someday i will make an income out of a kit.

As i wrote above, there is no plans of getting an income out of my final project, however I am hoping to disseminate information about my project, I dont mind it if people recreate it and I will help people if they got in touch of me about my final project, I am also going to spread information during the 5 workshops i am going to conduct. I very much value open source, and i would like to contribute to the world, it is important to give back and i will try my best.

Creative Commons

The whole copyrights thing is still not clear here for us in the UAE, sure maybe big companies and organizations know what to do but for us the public, we are clueless when it comes to protecting our intellectual properties. I've been taught about Creative Commons at college, I understood their concepts 3 years ago, it was my first time to be introduced to the website.

Creative Commons website has a License Generator that can actually generate you a licensing statement from them.

Whatever you change in the above choices, actually changes the license picture in Red.

Below is the actual copied embeded link from the license generator, unedited.
