At the end gears had not been used for the final project because I used capacitive sensors instead of rotary encoder.

what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?

Design in CAD software
Fabrication using all technics learnt during fabacademy
Electronic design and production, final project run using its own board.
Testing and debugging electronics
Coding (embedded, mobile aplication, server) - still in progress

The BLE communication between mobile phone and device is still to be improved.

Once we have data into our database, I still need to develop the frontend. A global map to display all the happiness data stored in the database.

what has worked? what hasn’t?

I tried several design to find the right one but it has to be improved because of the magnet taht are not strong enough to hold the whole project.

At the end I glue them into the holes mades for that but I am not satasfied by the result. This is the next point I will work on.

what questions need to be resolved?

How to go from a prototype to a real product. I mean an open source product. I asked guilem how he did for Smart Citizen and i realize I have a long road before being able to propose an open source end user project. But I will.

what will happen when?

Doing my best to present something on Friday 15th of June.

My next target is to product some PCB from a provider like seedstudio. Then trying to reduce the costs.

what have you learned?

Electronics debug is an art ! Hopefully I have been helped by mentors. At the end I had been able to present something that worked. But it was short.

I learnt a lot on electronic debuging during this final week.

I also learnt from mistakes I made, and a new version is already in progress.

Project Managment

How the final project has been managed ? … euh … I am great fan of SCRUM agile method that I use for every project I made. But to be honest there was not real planification about the project management. As my local instructors adviced us, I tried to use every week assignments for my final project. But at the end (I mean the last week) I had some part of the final project (3D prints, model, casted parts, output, communication) but some were still missing (input, laser cut parts, milling parts, …) that is why the final week was a real sprint. I used the gitlab issues, boards and milestone, to help me managing the remaining tasks.
