Assignment
develop a plan for dissemination of your final project prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your root directory
Class notes
During this week I prepared the predentation slide. It is not finished yet because I am a bit behind for the final project. And I need a beautiful picture of it and while I am writing those lines, final project is not finished.
EDIT 20180615 : Here is the final slide.
Choose a licence
I felt hesitating abour the licence I am going to use.
There are som many open source / free licence available with so many differences (most commons are Apache, MIT, L/GPL, CC, …).
In my humble opinion open source free should not be restrictive. That is why I selected 2 licences:
-
the Do What The Fuck You Want to Public License - WTFPL taht is a non copy left public licence - you are to do whatever you want, like public domain.
-
the Creative common - Attribution - CC BY 2.0 - you are free to share and adapt for any purpose but you must credit me and tell me what your doing.
I finally choose the second one because I would like the author (me) be credited. But your are free do do whatever your want.
What about the future of Mooods ?
I would like Mooods to become an open source structure/project, like open source beehive, aker, smart citizen ?
I would like to run a crowdfounding campaign.
As an open source project, anybody will be able to build his own moood lamp, using arduino, or buying the electronics. The purpose of this common hardware interface is everybody can do moood rings. We will propose a plateform where moooders will be able to upload their own rings.
The moood lamp will be shown at Barcelona Makerfaire next week (16/17th of july), and of course in fab14.
EDIT 20180620: Here is a picture of Mooods presented to Barcelona MakerFaire 2018
Web page
The project has already its own landing page.
Mooods web page : http://mooods.pages.squaregolab.fr/website/ currently hosted on my own fabalab servers.
Final presentation
Comming soon video, waiting for the final project presentation.
Audio
For the audio I used Audacity a audio editin software to compose the music of the video.
The main son used is extract from a live session of Martin Solveig - Live @ Springinsfeld 2017 (playing Dillon Francis - Need You Mashup).
I get the mp3 from the youtube video and pick a short moment - the main sample that has been repeated. I also add some samples like the famous “Oh my gosh” from skrillex.
Here is the final track used for the presentation video:
Video
For the video I used Adobe After Effect for the text effects. You can have a free 30 day trial. The I downloaded a free template from Motion array
Then I basicaly change the text from the template and export a Movie with all texts.
After that I used Adobe Premiere Pro, a professionnal video editing software to create the video. You can also use a free trial version.
I added the soundtrack and put pieces of videos taken during the fabacademy trying to follow the rythm of the music.
