About Gonzalo Perez

   My
name is Gonzalo Perez; I have a bachelor's degree in Architecture and a Master's degree in Humanities. I have been working at the School of Architecture of the Universidad Anahuac Norte, in Mexico City for the past 25 years, where I  coordinate The Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing, and teach Architectural Models.

During the first year of the School of Architecture, I teach my students how to elaborate models manually, so it helps them to know the material, and be able to modify it. We are currently working with cardboard, wood, metal, and acrylic, which are manipulated using only drawing instruments, and manual cutting tools. In the subsequent years, the students learn how to make architectural models using a CNC router 3D printer, laser cutting tools and machines.
I am interested in the experimentation with different kind of materials and the usage of technology for the fabrication of architectural models.
