Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of magic.

And I never meant parlor tricks, I meant genuine magic, which felt so connected to nature. I wanted fire to burt from my finger-tips. For wind to obey my commands, I would hear whispers between the leaves and shadows in the corners of my eyes.

My desire was selfish, but it was all-consuming; to be included in the wider communications between nature, technology and also myself. I spend my childhood imaging myself being able to interact with trees and plants, for them to sense my presence and for me to be a part of them. I became a filmmaker to be able to bring these worlds to live, but I became an artist to bring the feeling to life.

As I plunged into technology and speculation and immersive installation, the more technology seemed like magic to me: A science of the unseen.

So for Fabacademy I decided to jump head first into the notions of interspecies communications. I want to create symbiotics devices with have various embedded sensors and biosensors which would act as extended sensing devices to pick up the whispers between species networks.

It's not just about me interacting with some magical omnipresent noise. but also about the noises as a sensing device for what exist beyond the human/ non-human boundary.

I realized that all the multiple ideas and simultaneous detours which I engaged on in my Fabacademy journey were detours into symbiotic-devices. Tech objects who like creatures seek to sense to record and to interact.

Pulse Sensor: I have attempted to get the Keyestudio Puls rate monitor towork: so far no luck.

PIR sensor: Tried it. didn't like it so much.

GSR Sensor: stands for galvanic skin response and it is a method of measuring the electrical conductance of the skin. It can be used to reflect human emotional activity.

VIDEO EDIT

Think about how many days you need to edit the video?

How should the music be.... it should be the sound generated by the device right?
