13. Applications and implications

Objectives

  • To propose a final project masterpiece that integrates the range of units covered,
    • answering:

      • What will you design?
      • What materials and components will be used?
      • Where will come from?
      • How much will they cost?
      • What parts and systems will be made?
      • What processes will be used?
      • What questions need to be answered?
      • How will it be evaluated?
    • Your project should incorporate 2D and 3D design,
      • additive and subtractive fabrication processes,
      • electronics design and production,
      • embedded microcontroller interfacing and programming,
      • system integration and packaging
    • Where possible, you should make rather than buy
      • the parts of your project
    • Projects can be separate or joint, but need to show individual
      • mastery of the skills, and be independently operable

What will it do?

It will display numbers. by utilizing solenoidal valves to create bubbles in a viscus medium to display time, rhythmic dancing, and so on utilizing an application.

Number of digits displaying devices are done before so i got inspiration from these projects to make my project

  • Normaly closed 2 way solenoid valve(8pcs).
  • manual valve(8pcs).
  • Silicone Tube.
  • Aquarium air pump.
  • Tube joints.
  • Branch pipe with 8 outlet.
  • Acrylic Sheet(black, transparent).
  • ESP 32
  • NeoPixel LED(8pcs).
  • OLED display.

How much will they cost?

  • Acrylic Sheet(2 mm 4 x 6 Inch) - ₹ 195.00 per 4 piece

What parts and systems will be made?

Standard parts like ESP32, resistors capacitors will be used and except that all will be fabricated as follows - A isolating chamber will be made to seperate the bubbles from intracting and to make them flow in a vertical direction. - The solinoids will be operated from a custome board with ESP 32 powering it. - Transparent top of the casing will be made from laser cutting for asthetics. - A digital oled display mount will be designed and using 3D printer it will be fabricated. - organizeres for arranging the pipeing will be made from laser cutting and 3D printing. - A compact casing including all electronics item will be then designed and cutted in laser cutter.

What questions need to be answered?

  • Will the pump i bought have enough power to create bubbles.
  • is water visus enough to my purpose.
  • how to get realtime Time.
  • should i increase the hight of my container.

How will it be evaluated?

if the clock can show digits properly and show time without errors and show the time in the oled display then as far as i am concern the projects evaluation is sucessful.
