“Iniciativa LIBRE” is a diverse group of students and university graduates who are interested in improving their city and the welfare of people. That’s why, we work voluntarily in the district of “El Agustino”; with children, civil organizations, leaders and neighbors; using architecture, urbanism and art as a tool for co-learning. Our mission is to create and manage urban and cultural initiatives focused on the social-urban development of our city in order to improve the quality of life of our citizens. We aspire to be a prosperous, integrated, supportive and democratic Metropolitan Lima, based on its own diversity and the social re-construction of it’s inhabitants.

I'm part of the FabLab Perú team, this is an awesome team in South America where I can create and share many ideas or things that can help people. One aspect that I love about this place is the teamwork because they are amazing people and I am learning every day with them. In 2019 we had the oportunity to work in a one of a kind project called “Simbyocreation”, on the northern Amazon región. We managed to convert a boat into a FabLab. It was a different experience because we navigated the boat together with amazon children who learned alongside us many things about fablabs. They then showed what they learned to children in other comunities, this made it such a beautiful experience. I'm really happy to be part of this Fabmily. 🥰
2020 was a challenge for everyone, but our team believed that the education should continue. We take advantage of this situation since the new laboratory for all the children was now in the confort of their own home. There was an opportunity to connect with parents which is important for the childs mental development, so that was the reason Digiwasi was born. Digiwasi is a transdisciplinary virtual learning laboratory that provides families and teachers with support for the cognitive, emotional and didactic development of children and adolescents. Through live sessions and our (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths) or STEAM project platform we integrate everyday life, technology, recycling and play in a cross-cultural way. Thanks to this project I won a scholarship to be in fab Academy 2021. 🥰
