5. Electronics production¶
Assignments¶
For this week we had to produce a PCB, program it and test it. It will be an ISP board so we can program other micro-controllers. So we have to to :
- Described the process of :
- milling
- stuffing
- de-bugging
- programming
- Demonstrate correct workflows and identify areas for improvement if required
Machine¶
For this week we will use some machines to mill a solder our board.
Othermill¶
The Othermill machine is a portable milling machine. It is design to mill PCB but also some other material in 2D and 3D. To use it, you will have to install the software which you can download here.

The Othermill machine is no longer distributed by the OtherMill company, but by the company Bantam. It’s exactly the same machine and there is an international version now ( the previous one was design just for the USA ).
Weller WSD 81I EU¶
To solder the components, we will use a iron from weller company : the WSD 81I EU.
