Assignment
Make (design+mill+assemble) something big
This is our shopbot
Workspace 1220*2440mm
Through the group project, 12t birch plywood was cut using 6mm end mill
We needed a gap of about 0.3mm for the joint
This is a secret door project design in illust
To celebrate our company's 5th anniversary, we will hang it at the entrance of Fab Lab
Before turning to the shopbots, use a laser cutter to select a small sample size to check the ratio
It was my first time dealing with a shopbot, so I practiced a lot
I cut it in a 6mm down cut first, and I used a 3mm endmill to save the details
the final result of using birch plywood
First of all, I decided to make a frame for my final project using Shopbot
I thought about how to implement Hanok for a very long time
It is a traditional Korean building called Hanok
I've been thinking about design almost all the way through the academy
I started the 2D design with fusion360
First, we set up our workspace with dotted lines
We used parameters and mirror functions
Draft Drawing of Completed Hanok
Illustrator has cleared it up
Shopbot can't cut the rectangle inside
And don't let the cut slip out
So I added a dogbone and a tab The dogbone makes joining easier
I used a 3mm down cut end mill to do the pockets cut(See the bottom job sheet for more information)
You need 0.1 to 0.3mm of clearance to make it easier to get in
Jenny, the CEO of JennyandSito, who makes furniture for cats, has helped me a lot in making a tool path
Thank you, Jenny
Outline uses a 6mm compressor bit
Compression bit has good performance in pocket processing(up-cut and down-cut combined bit)
However, you need to set more depht than the parts that change from up-cut to down-cut
(Set the depht bigger than b1) But if the Dephts is too big, damage to the machine comes fast
Cutting completed(There's a cutting video bottom) I put the screw into the vertex and fixed it
I painted the roof parts with spray
Spray name [Montana mtn 94 - black]
You need to spray it two or three times.
It takes about 20 minutes to dry each
