Project name
Foggy Hanok [안개 낀 한옥]
Hanok is Korean traditional house
What will it do?
This module measures the air pollution level of the city
and visualizes the air pollution level using LED and humidifier to create fog
The reason for start this project
Seoul is fighting the problem of fine dust and dumping
Inform citizens of the dangers of fine dust
And i want to make it easier for the elderly to see the amount of fine dust on that day
Also, I want to set up modules in areas where there is no harm to the cityscape and solve the problem of unauthorized dumping
Who's done what beforehand?
Lim Eng Hwa Lucas (2019 FA student)
Teams of Professors and Students at Seoul National University
What will you design?
Almost evetything
I get inspiration Korea national treasure Dong Dae moon
I fell in love with traditional Korean architectural techniques
the curve of the roof is attractive (I took this picture))
Hanok has little pollution from modern architecture
Teams of Professors and Students at Seoul National University designed parametric designs in advance
First design concept
final design concept
The main frame will be designed using a fusion,
and a board that connects the input and output devices should be designed
What materials and components will be used? [BOM]
1.Birch plywood
[Purchase Link]
- 12T (1220*2440) 70UDS*1
- I actually used about two-thirds of it
2.Transparent acrylic
[Purchase Link]
- 3T(600*600)/ 5USD*1
3.Dust sensor
-
[Input device week explains in detail]
- This is the material that was left in our fab lab
- The price is 10USD
4.Humidifier
-
[Output device week explains in detail]
- This is the material that was left in our fab lab
- The price is 5USD
5.Circuit board component
[Purchase Link]
- Attiny 1614
- 2.5mm jack (for 3.3V adapter)
- 6pin header * 2 (for LED, dust sensor)
- 4pin header (for Humidifier)
- 2pin header (for UPDI)
- FTDI
6.LED
Where will come from?
Almost available on the local open market
The tree is Russian and please click on the BOM link for more information
How much will they cost?
That depends on the size
The test version will be under $100
What parts and systems will be made?
It's a code process that I was thinking about earlier
The frame and roof of Hanok will be made of wood
Humidifier will make a bucket of water to make smoke
And we're going to make a board that connects humidifiers, fine dust sensors, and LEDs
What processes will be used?
Raser cutter - Acrylic cutting and prototyping
Shopbot - wood frame cutting
Bantam - make PCB board
Hand Tools - Finishing
Illust - 2D design
Fusion360 - 3D design
Eagle - PCB design
Arduino - Programming
Multimeter, Oscillatorscope - Electrical test
What questions need to be answered?
What is Hanok?
How to Lock the Fog inside the Hanok
Hanok Building Technology
Architectural Style of Hanok
How will it be evaluated?
1. Design of Hanok - Using Joints Only
2-1Does the LED change color by measuring fine dust and emitting smoke?
2-2How to Deliver Water to Humidifier
2-3LED and humidifiers that change depending on dust value
3. Hide electronic components prettily inside
4. Hanok roof
5. acrylic wall of traditional pattern
6. keep the fog inside the Hanok
