A1.1 - Principles and Practices

Background

I´m a continuing student of Fab Academy 2020, because of the pandemic situation I wasn´t able to finish the course.

The Fab Lab is now almost closed for a year, so I have to find solutions for not depending on the Fab Lab machinery because it´s still closed by official disposition until further notice.

The last Year I was designing a Forest Prevention Fire System, and this year I was going to change my project to do a Fiscal User Interface that Triggers Hot Key, Macros and Scrips trough keyboard keys, and other buttons or sensors.

HotKeys

It was Programmable key board extension for Triger productivity tools and generate music.

It´s aimed for users that repeat many times one action or series of actions

Like a "The Left Hand Ninja" I heard the term of a gamer in YouTube, and I think it´s a great concept to develop my final project.

The user interface can be used to design and model, to program and be used as an instrument to make music.

At the end I change my project to do a Stepper Motor Syntetizer.

Research

I have been researching some commercial and DIY mini and ergonomic keyboards.

I´m basing my project in the type/musical keyboard developed by Sol Bekic From FabLab Milano, Italy.

Project Management

I found https://quire.ioa a nice online project management tool, and I decided to give it a try.

Is a simple Todo - Kanban - Gantt chart project management tool.

I decided to divide my Fab Academy into 2 main projects. All the assignments were programed in one project called "Assignments" and the Final Project by his own.

ProjectManagement001

For the "Assignments" project I make a todo list with each of the Assignments by week.

Then I adjust the duration in the Gantt Chart calendar view.

I did the same for the Final Project.
