Lesson 11 - Composites

The great fun about the Fab academy is the fact that you are doing something special every week.
but many times, the making process is involving some creativity in it,
and I am lucky enough to have such a great group that likes to work together and helping each other.

So, right after the lesson we were discussing the weekly task and we had decided to come up with an identical shelving system
that the main issue will be the material we are compositing and its ability to attached to each other

. I have planned the initial mold on rhino and solidworks . (in case some parameters would be changed)
The shelves has an identical supporting measures that can be designed differently by each student,
while the top (the shelf itself) will be the same mold for all of us while each student can composite any given material he would like to test it with.

Milling the mold

We have tried to keep it simple, so the mold itself could be milled easily for everyone.
There are 2 pockets and basic surface and a assembled part to define the side of the cavity for the mold.

The final result is yet to come...
