02 Computer - Aided Design

There are many open source and commercial cad tools aivalable on the market, the aim is to choose one which fits to your needs and to became good at it.

I have my own Rhinoceros - professional program for 2d and 3d drawings and I think for me it is the best choice. I am planning to work mostly with Rhinoceros during Fab Academy semester and to combine this software with other great tools like grasshopper, paneling tool, t-spline, v-ray.

After last homework review I've made decision to learn also OpenSCAD and Fab Modules softwares. As our teacher, Neil Gershenfield has said, Rhino has lot's of limitations since is a tool which use surface representation. Good idea for people who already know Rhino is to experiment with functional tools, softwares which use volume representation.

My proposal for the final project is an architetcure installation. You can read more about it under this link. On that site I have put already 3d and 2d images of the project, 3d model is made in Rhinoceros.

During this week I was busy learning Paneling Tool and I have designed structure for a lamp.

My very first steps in OpenSCAD.
