Final project idea:
For the final project idea, I really enjoy thinking of new creative ideas. Although this time I have a lot of ideas going into my mind which makes me confused to select one them. However, there is a quote says:
“The best way to have a good idea is to have lots of ideas.” ― Linus Pauling
Hence, my strategy to have a lot of ideas then select the most I felt comfortable with. I would love to build something can be controlled by gloves or robotics Arm etc.…, I did search to see what out there in the market.
The First idea I like it’s (Time control machine glove) I did sketch it, but I was wanting to try something else so I did continue searching and found this (Remote Control Stunt Toy Car).
I know that product already in the market, but I will enjoy building it from scratch and see it working by using different fabrication techniques I will learn it in Fab academy. Moreover, I may add more features for the car to give it some touches of my personality
And any idea pop in my mind I will add it to this page, hoping to come with nice idea for the final project.

2. The Function of the project and its uses :
The aim of this project is to stop the movement of any subject such as Fan, drill, and, Alarm clock, etc..
The principle of working for the Time Machine its function as strobe controlled by Arduino, by controlling the frequency of flashes through accelerometer and potentiometer, therefore when the frequency of strobe synchronize with the frequency of the movement subject it will stop.

First I was planning to fabricate a normal car, but the different idea came into my mind which was “why not use this car as a guide for blind people” instead of using “Guide Dogs”.
Some of the disadvantages of having “Guide Dogs” is:
Time consuming and responsibility for daily care.
The high cost is incurred.
People with dog allergies.
So I was thinking it may be a fun and a new way to guide, instead of using a guide dog or a white cane.
How it will work?
The person that will use this item will wear the controller at his hand and point to the direction he wants to go, the car then will guide him, the car can sense any object and indicate it. Moreover, as the car is moving it will create sounds so the person can follow it.
But there are disadvantages of having the car as a guide it’s not practical in real life for example: if someone wants to go up at the stairs it will hard for them.
Hand Sensor Control “Drone” [3]:
So I was thinking to replace the car with a drone, thus, the movement will be easier.
Also, this drone will not only work as a guide but also as a smart drone doing other jobs like setting meetings, Alarm…etc
Fab Robot :

The last idea I thought about is the idea I did select for the “final project” finally.
The idea is to build a Robot that gives a guided tour for Fab Lab visitors and navigate them to all the rooms at the lab.
I was talking and discussing with my friend Eng. Aisha Alsuwaidi, about the ideas I have, to take her opinion, she told me that she really likes the idea of “Fab Robot”.
Many thanks for her she gave me a suggestion to add a touch screen to the robot so when the visitor comes to the lab they can choose where to go. She did give me the motivation to select this idea and give it try.
Moreover, she suggested to add QR code on the screen, thus the visitors can scan it to get the tour of the machines in the select room when they arrived at the selected destination.
Working Principle:
The visitor will enter fab lab reception, the robot will greet the visitor, then in the screen attached to the robot there is a map of the lab the user can select where to go, the user will follow the robot to the selected room, and there the robot will start to describe the machines and the actives happen in each room.
In addition, I may connect the robot with employees through application to notify them when a visitor came to the lab.
Why I select this idea?
In fact, on my first day visiting the fab lab, I didn’t know where to go, even if the lab is small, we need something to guide us. I did call the office number of the lab, one of the employees came and guide me.
I think this robot may save time for the employees and help them, also since fab lab UAE focusing a lot on kid’s activities I think kids will like it.
Moreover, In the university, I did not get the chance to learn about robotic, so I want to take this opportunity and learn something new I’m not used to it.
