Machine making
1. Laser cutter
I do it according to the experience of WEEK 4: COMPUTER CONTROLLED CUTTING
After assemble them .the following is the effect(There are protective film on the acrylic)
2. Subtractive manufacture
I would use milling, lathe, drilling machine to make the block, Input block, washer, spring in this part
2.1 milling the block
I use our milling machine to process it .
- Open the main power;
- Load material and use Bench vise to fix it . In the mean time use handle and rubber hammer to check it again;
- Close the safety cover;
- Run the spindle;
- Slowly change x, y, z axis, to make sure the cutter above the model
- Clock the z handle and the bench vise rise ,and make sure the material surface just touch ,and then define z0 on digital screen
- Use same method to define x0 and y0;
- In rough cutting ,every time just 1mm;
- In finish cutting ,we need cut less than 0;5mm;
- Stop machine;
- Use brake to stop the spindle ;
- Use handle to loose bench vise;
- Take material away
The Input block is the same method .
2.2 Lathe the wood ring(insulate heat)
To insulate the heat from hot end to block. I add a wood ring. I use lathe to process the wood
2.3 Drill the hole
The diameter of 3D printer nozzle is 0.4mm.It's so small and material can't go out,so I enlarge the hole to 2mm
I check the size of hole 10mm,and the wood is 10.5mm.So I plug in firmly. It can keep inside.
After assemble it ,the extrude head is the following
3. Additive manufacture
My pipe joint M4,but my pump is M20. so I have to make a joint by myself. I design it in Fusion 360.
Directly translate data to Cura In cura to slice it After 3D printing it,I try to assemble it.It's OK.
4.Assemble
After deal with the wire, the finial of the machine is following:
