About Me

Hi, I'm Omid.

I'm a doctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, working in biomedical engineering. My research sits mainly at the intersection of optics and ultrasound, with a focus on biomedical sensing and applications. My work involves experimental systems, measurements, simulation, and data acquisition analysis.

My background is in Electronic Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, so I've always been interested in both the physical side of a system and the signals and information we can get from it.

I joined Fab Academy because I wanted to push that a step further and become more independent in building and prototyping. It has given me the chance to work more electronics, embedded programming, CAD, digital fabrication, and sensor integration, and to take ideas from a sketch or simulation toward a working physical system.

That's the part of engineering I enjoy most: understanding how different pieces work together, solving problems along the way, and eventually seeing an idea work in the real world.

Outside research and engineering, I enjoy football, reading, and spending time with my family.
